Today is the 77th Golden Globe Awards! The ceremony will air live on NBC at 8:00 pm EST and 5:00 pm PST. The Golden Globes has always been the big start of Hollywood's award season. After this, there's the Critics Choice Awards, the Screen Actors Guild Awards, the Baftas, the Independent Spirit Awards and of course the Oscars. The film industry works hard all year long putting films together that if lucky enough, may get a shot at some of these awards. Film Awards bring all of Hollywood together. It's not just an honor: It’s a place - A place where they can all celebrate their work and bond over the majesty of what they've created.
The nominations this year were about what I expected but I have two major disappointments. Saoirse Ronan and Alexandre Desplat did miraculous jobs for acting and composing Little Women. I congratulate them both with the utmost sincerity. I'm very disappointed however that Greta Gerwig was snubbed of a Director’s nomination, Florence Pugh of a Supporting Actress nomination and the film itself of Best Motion Picture Drama. I'm also INFURIATED that Alfre Woodard wasn't nominated for Clemency. Absolutely unacceptable. Nevertheless, I truly do congratulate all the nominees on their recognition and I hope they all have fun tonight. I'll be posting my thoughts on the Globes tomorrow. As for today, I’m sure everyone has their own predictions as to what will win so I've decided to list mine for you below.
