Chadwick Boseman Tribute

A God in His Own Right

Black Panther was not just a film and Chadwick Boseman was not just a man. Black Panther was a love letter for those in the shadows who are still being kept from the sun. Boseman was a God in his own right. He had a heart of warmth with wisdom beyond his years. More often than not, it's the ones who leave too early that know best.

The example he set will be upheld by those who mourn and celebrate him. From Get On Up and 42 to Marshall, 21 Bridges, and Black Panther, he's contributed to a history dedicated to destroying the ridiculousness that is inequality. The world is bigger than the people in it. There's more than enough room for everyone. There's always room for someone's voice, someone's story, someone's point of view.

That was Boseman. Each moment with him was a window into something new. I salute his contribution to a country and a world he could've given up on a long time ago (and many wouldn't have blamed him, myself included) but never did. I look forward to seeing his inner fire burn with beauty and live on in all of us.

“Rest peacefully our Black Panther! All who stand with you, I know will do their best to make you and our country proud and just. Damn it is just not that hard to do the right thing! Salute!”
